Core Circuit Training
At Minnesota Top Team, our Core Circuit Program focuses on building a solid core in each one of our students. This class is not usually recommended for the "beginner" as it is a high-end extreme workout. The target student for this class is someone who works out already and is looking to push the limits of their endurance and conditioning. Our Circuit workouts are one hour and consist mainly of 1-2 minute drills and stations that are always different and always challenging. This is the most effective way to building strength, endurance and conditioning to this incredibly important part of the body. Please contact us for more information about our Core Circuit Training programs.
What is your "core"?
A very common misperception of "core" training is that it is ab training, or multiple variations of sit ups. This couldn't be farther from the truth. The muscles of your core comprise the most important muscles in your body because all the other muscles rely on them being strong and stable. The weaker your core, the weaker you are. If you're going to pay attention to any area of your body, the core is the place to start. The core is an array of muscles from your chest to your hips; they maintain balance, ensure stamina, keep you upright and protect the routes between your brain and your appendages. The "core" actually consists of many different muscles that stabilize the spine and pelvis and run the entire length of the torso. These muscles stabilize the spine, pelvis and shoulder and provide a solid foundation for movement in the extremities. Core conditioning exercise programs need to target all these muscle groups to be effective. These muscles help control movements, transfer energy, shift body weight and move in any direction. A strong core distributes the stresses of weight-bearing and protects the back. Benefits of core strength training include: Greater efficiency of movement; improved body control, balance, and stability; increased strength and power; and reduced risk of injury.
